When Ahalya, the jewellery designer approached us to help create a name for her new venture, we jointly arrived at a naming brief: a name that is smart, contemporary and meaningful. We coined many name suggestions and finally arrived at Resplenda, an amalgamation of resplendent and splendour. We also registered www.resplenda.com and the domain extensions .net and .org for Resplenda Expressions Private Limited.

Ahalya is arguably the most talented jewellery designer in India. When she wanted a name for her elegant, new jewellery store to be opened at Sterling Avenue in Chennai, the brief was very simple: create a name that reflects the history and beauty of Rajasthan. Appropriately, Rasvihar is the name of a village in Udaipur district in Rajasthan and means “abode of aesthetic appreciation”. We registered www.rasvihar.com and the other domain extensions .net and .org.

When Resplenda Expressions Private Limited wanted to pick a name for their flower parlour, they turned to Namekhoj. The brief was to create a name that would complement their jewellery store Rasvihar, evoke a sense of beauty and be trademarkable. Banswari in Hindi means “sound of the bamboo flute”. We also registered www.banswari.com and the .net, and .org extensions.

We chose the name ‘Vitru’ for one of our clients who is in the business of 3D architectural rendering and animation services. It was a unique naming experience that gave way to several insights and possibilities.

The name ‘Vitru’ is derived from two geniuses, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio who was called the world’s first architect and Leonardo Da Vinci who proposed the ‘Vitruvian Man’.

Vitruvius was an architect and engineer who also penned the treatise that is today known as the ‘ten books of architecture’. He worked on just one building, a basilica at Fanum Fortunae or Fano as it is called now. But he left behind him a treasure of architectural knowledge.

Leornado Da Vinci drew the ‘Vitruvian Man’, a wondrous architectural portrayal of the human body. It is not just a unique perspective in architecture but holds significance in several other ways. The name ‘Vitru’ is also a tribute to this symbolisation of man by Da Vinci, that has found usage in many places.

‘Vitru’ is architecture in a 360 degrees perspective – a combination of theory (Vitruvius) and art (Leonardo). It is all about how the theory of architecture complements the craft and alternately how art inspires the technology, time and again.

When Jigyasa and Pratibha wanted a name for their publishing company we were looking for a name that is short and unique. Namekhoj brainstormed with them to create Pritya which means “with love and affection” in Sanskrit. We also registered www.pritya.com for them.

When Bharti & Sanjiv Arora wanted a name for their food catering business venture, they turned to Namekhoj for help. Vegedelights was our answer - a name that conveyed joy and happiness and underlined the vegetarian-ness of their offerings.
